Rare One-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Bowl with Inverted Maker's Mark, Stamped "COWDEN & WILCOX / HARRISBURG, PA," circa 1865, with rounded sides, tooled shoulder, and flattened rim, decorated with a large spitting tulip on the front. Impressed with the maker's mark "COWDEN & WILCOX / HARRISBURG, PA" along with a second "COWDEN & WILCOX" mark impressed upside-down. 2 3/4" loss to rim. To other rim chips. Five hairlines from rim, which stop at shoulder or midsection. Some wear to Albany slip on interior.
