Scarce One-Gallon Stoneware Cream Jar with Stenciled Cobalt Federal Eagle Decoration, Stenciled "A.P. Donaghho, / Fredericktown, / Pa.," circa 1875, ovoid jar with flattened rim, decorated with a finely-stenciled Federal eagle with shield, holding an olive branch and arrows. Shoulder decorated with early A.P. Donaghho stenciling from Fredericktown, PA, before this rise of his well-known Parkersburg, WV operation. Excellent condition with a glazed-over chip to side of rim.
