Four-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Double Bird Decoration, Stamped "OTTMAN BRO'S / & CO / FORT EDWARD, N.Y.," circa 1880, cylindrical crock with semi-squared rim and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of crossed birds with heavily-shaded bodies, perched on a tree branch. Flaking to underside. 1 1/2" glazed-over base flake on reverse. Some minor, tiny spots of exfoliation on left side of crock. A few chips at edge on underside, which appear to be in-the-making. A minor chip on interior of rim.
