Four-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Double Bird Decoration, Stamped "S. HART / FULTON," NY State origin, circa 1860, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-squared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed cobalt design of crossed birds featuring heavily-shaded wings and dotted accents. Slip-trailed "4" to left of bird decoration. Long crack on side of crock, extending onto underside. Inverted Y-shaped hairline on reverse. Minor chip to interior of rim. Some in-the-firing roughness to surface.
