Glazed Shenandoah Valley Redware Jar, Rockingham County, VA origin, third quarter 19th century, ovoid jar with footed base and thick, semi-squared rim with rounded edge. Exterior covered in a reddish-brown lead-and-manganese glaze. Chipping to bottom edge of rim. 1 3/8" shallow chip to top edge of rim. Glaze wear to interior base. H 7".
