Very Fine Westerwald Stoneware Jug with Incised and Applied Floral Decoration, late 17th century, ovoid form with rounded foot and heavily-tooled collar, decorated with an elaborate incised plant with molded and applied leaves and flowers. Surface decorated with purplish manganese and cobalt highlights. Rim chip. Some faint minor lines in rim. A hairline on underside continuing a short distance onto base. H 7 3/4".
