Rare and Fine Glazed Presentation Redware Puzzle Jug, Dated 1827, English origin, ovoid jug with rounded rim and tubular spout, narrow collar featuring a pierced cross and circles, the surface decorated with daubs of copper over yellow slip. Surface heavily-incised with large tulips and two small birds, along with the following inscription: "When this you see Remember me / And Bear me in your Mind / When I am Seldom at your House / Speak By me as you find / Mrs Bly / Bond Ju 9 / 1827". Exceptional incised decoration and inscription. Flakes to glaze. Base chips. H 7 1/4".
