Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, attributed to the Remmey Pottery, Philadelphia, PA, third quarter 19th century, cylindrical jar with rounded shoulder and squared rim, decorated completely around with a brushed cobalt stem bearing leaves and several flowers. 6" crack extending up from base of jar. 3/4" stone ping on side of jar. Minor U-shaped surface line in rim. A small chip on interior of rim and a small chip on top of rim. A few minor lines on base and underside, one of which occurred in the firing. 1" in-the-firing line on underside, extending 1" onto base. H 9 1/2".
