Salt-Glazed Stoneware Jar, North Carolina origin, late 19th century, approximately three-gallon ovoid jar with heavily-tooled shoulder and applied lug handles, covered in a drippy salt glaze. Heavy chipping to rim. Reglued 2 1/2" x 1" piece at shoulder. Two short cracks on top of rim, possibly in-the-firing. 1 1/2" in-the-firing separation from rim above one handle. Small, in-the-firing line in handle. H 14 5/8".
