Large Westerwald "GR" Stoneware Mug, German origin, circa 1740, cylindrical mug with tooled shoulder and base. Midsection with applied Georgius Rex medallion, flanked by an unusual series of geometrics patterns. Decoration and banding highlighted in cobalt slip. Crazing on interior of mug. 2 3/4" hairline from rim. Faint lines on underside, which do not appear to go through to interior. H 5 3/4".
