Salt-Glazed Stoneware Canning Jar, Stamped "SOLOMON BELL / STRASBURG / Va," circa 1870, cylindrical jar with rounded shoulder and flared rim, the surface covered in a salt glaze. Albany slip glazed interior. Provenance: Descended in the family of Betty Cooley, the wife of potter, Richard Franklin "Polk" Bell. Near mint condition with a small rim nick. H 8 3/8".
