One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "C. BOYTON. / TROY," New York State origin, circa 1830, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, tall collar, and applied lug handles, decorated with a brushed cobalt tulip design. Approximately 3 3/4" x 7" X-shaped line at base on right side of jar. Some fry to cobalt. Faint 3" line on underside, which does not extend through to interior. Base chip. Several small rim chips. Faint 2 3/8" Y-shaped surface line on reverse, which does not extend through to interior. H 9".
