Two Stripe-Decorated Stoneware Wax Sealers, Western PA origin, circa 1875, two cylindrical jars with rounded shoulders and "wax sealer" rims, decorated with three brushed cobalt stripes. Smaller example with 3" crack from rim on front and a 1 3/4" Y-shaped crack from rim on reverse. Larger example with mottling to surface, 3" vertical line at base, continuing 2" onto underside of jar, and an in-the-firing discoloration to surface. H (of smaller example) 8".
