One-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar with Lid, Stamped "COWDEN & WILCOX / HARRISBURG, PA," circa 1865, cylindrical jar with rounded shoulder and applied lug handles, decorated with a brushed cobalt flowering plant with spitting tulip and bud. Includes original salt-glazed stoneware lid. 2" vertical hairline above one handle. Faint 2 1/2" line on underside, extending 4" up reverse side of jar. Lid in mint condition. H (including lid) 9 3/4".
