Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Cake Crock with Lid, attributed to the Remmey Pottery, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1860, with tooled shoulder and ribbed lug handles, decorated on the front and back with two large cobalt tulips. Cobalt wavy line decoration under each handle. Lid decorated with a series of cobalt swags. Small restoration to end of one handle. Approximately 2" restoration at base, which includes part of leaf on decoration. Two chips on interior of rim. Some very light flaking to a few places on shoulder. Lid with two 2" line extending from edge, a 7/8" chip to knob, and a wide 2" crack or stone ping on edge of lid. H 6" ; Diameter 10".
