Rare Small-Sized, Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Jug with Slip Inscription "Waranted Good," Stamped "CHANDLER MAKER," attributed to Thomas Chandler, Edgefield, SC, circa 1840, straight-sided jug with tooled spout and ribbed handle, covered in a light green alkaline glaze, and decorated with the inscription "Waranted Good" in brown slip. Impressed lightly on front below spout "CHANDLER MAKER". Desirable small size, excellent color, and rare inscription. A fine example of Edgefield stoneware. Mint condition. Height 9".
