Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "GALES-VILLE . N.Y.," W.A. Lewis, circa 1858, semi-ovoid jug with semi-squared spout, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a flowering plant with circular blossom and detailed leaves. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Provenance: William Bouck Collection. Several spout chips. Hairlines to underside. Cobalt with bubbling and light wear. Small traces of old paint to surface. H 13 3/4".
