Two Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jars, Western PA and WV origin, circa 1875, a small-sized jar with scrolled stenciled design, stenciled "E.J. MILLER & CO. / QUEENSWARE. / ALEXANDRIA . VA;" paired with a larger jar with brushed stripe decoration, probably Palatine, WV. Smaller in excellent, essentially as-made condition with a glazed-over scratch at base and a few glazed-over rough spots to surface beside stenciling. Larger in very nice condition with some light surface wear, the proper right side with a glazed-over, curving scratch. H (of shorter) 8 1/8".
