Very Rare Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Bowl with Kaolin Slip Decoration, attributed to Thomas Chandler, Kirksey's Crossroads, Edgefield District, SC, circa 1850, thin-walled, flaring bowl with semi rounded rim, decorated with a band of conjoined kaolin-slip floral motifs against an olive, alkaline-glazed ground. Four thin sealed cracks from rim, some partially painted on exterior and all four fully painted on interior. Two restored losses from rim. Diam. 10" ; H 2 3/8".
