Open-Handled Stoneware Jar with Iron Decoration, Middle TN origin, circa 1880-1920, ovoid jar with flaring, semi-rounded rim and rounded vertical handles applied at the shoulder, the upper dipped in a reddish-brown iron solution, the entire surface covered in a clear salt glaze. Provenance: Carole Wahler Collection. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with a short, glazed-over firing line at base, not visible on interior. H 10 1/4".
