Rare Slip-Decorated Stoneware Canning Jar, attributed to the Hissong Pottery, Cassville, PA, fourth quarter 19th century, narrow jar with rounded shoulder and flaring, semi-squared rim, brush-decorated on the front and reverse with two different white-slip floral motifs against a brown Albany-slip-glazed ground. As-made condition with heavy in-the-firing spalling to slip. H 10 7/8".
