Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Wreath Decoration, Stamped "COWDEN & WILCOX. / HARRISBURG .PA," circa 1865, ovoid jug with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded spout, brush-decorated with a wreath surrounding the number, "2." Cobalt highlights to maker's mark, capacity mark, and handle terminals. A small, glazed-over iron ping to shoulder. A 1 1/2" flake and 1 1/4" flake to underside along bottom edge on reverse. Minor fry to cobalt at top of decoration. H 14 1/4".
