Fine Glazed Redware Mug with Two-Color Slip Decoration, Stamped "JOHN BELL," Waynesboro, PA origin circa, 1840-1880, thin-walled, ovoid mug with footed base, flaring collar, and doubly spurred handle, the lead-glazed surface decorated at the collar with heavy manganese and copper sponging, and at the base and handle with additional manganese sponging. Desirable form and glaze. Areas of restoration to rim and base. Two small chips to bottom edge. Some wear to handle. Midsection with some staining and minor in-the-firing pings. H 7 1/2".
