Half-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jug with Brooklyn, NY Advertising, Stamped "UNION POTTERY, / NEWARK, N.J. / J ZIPF. Prop'r," circa 1885, semi-ovoid form with tooled spout, featuring the slip-trailed advertising, "J.C. Ficken & Co. / Union. St. / Brooklyn. N.Y." Inscribed "1/2." below spout. Spout chips, mostly glazed over. A minor chip to handle. Staining to surface. H 9 3/4".
