Rare Half-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Presentation Pitcher, Inscribed "P.M. Toomey / For Beer Only," attributed to the Wingender Pottery, Haddonfield, NJ, circa 1885, ovoid pitcher with footed base and flaring collar with semi-rounded rim, featuring the deeply incised and cobalt-highlighted inscription, "P.M. Toomey / For Beer Only," within a large brushed wreath. Impressed "2" above for two quarts. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with a faint 2 1/2" Y-shaped line on underside, not extending through to interior. H 9".
