Three-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Grapes Decoration, Stamped "A. K. BALLARD, / BURLINGTON, VT.," circa 1867-1874, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, applied lug handles, and semi-rounded rim, brush-decorated with large cluster of grapes. Cobalt highlight to maker's mark and capacity mark. A 1 1/2" x 1 1/8" chip to interior of rim. Additional smaller chips to interior of rim. Two thin 4 3/4" cracks from rim on reverse. A faint 3/4" surface line to edge of proper right handle. Staining throughout. H 10 1/2".
