Extremely Rare Stoneware Presentation Mug with Incised Decoration of a Potter's Wheel and Horse Head, Inscribed E.O.M. / Ellenville . / Aug . 19. 1891," Ellenville, NY origin, 1891, cylindrical mug with recessed body and semi-squared handle with rounded edge, the midsection featuring incised and cobalt-highlighted designs of a potter's wheel and horse flanking the inscription, "Ellenville. / Aug . / 19. 1891." Incised above with the cobalt-highlighted initials, "E.O.M." Salt-glazed exterior and Albany slip glazed interior. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with a minor in-the-firing iron ping below inscription and a minor in-the-firing chip (contact mark) at base. H 5".
