Stoneware Canning Jar with Cobalt Stripe Decoration, Stenciled "From / James Hamilton & Co. / Greensboro, Pa.," circa 1870, tapering jar with tooled shoulder and semi-squared "wax sealer" rim, decorated with six freehand stripes and desirable "From James Hamilton & Co." stenciling. A 1 1/4" in-the-firing base chip. A small in-the-firing chip to base of reverse. Other minor, in-the-firing base chipping. Small chips to interior of rim. A small chip to inner rim for lid. H 8 1/8".
