Two Cobalt-Decorated Art Pottery Vases, NC origin, circa 1930, both of highly ovoid form, the larger example with streaked cobalt slip under a clear glaze, featuring scored shoulder moldings, unmarked; the smaller example with streaked cobalt and copper slip under a clear glaze, bearing four oval maker's marks on underside, reading "POTTERY / ? / HEM... / N.C.". Taller with surface flakes and base wear. Smaller in excellent, essentially as-made condition. H (of taller) 9 1/4".
