Two-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Foliate Decoration, Stamped "N CLARK JR / ATHENS NY," mid 19th century, cylindrical crock with semi-rounded rim and applied lug handles, brush-decorated with an abstract foliate design accented with spots and dashes. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Very nice condition. A minor in-the-firing ping below rim on front. A small rim chip on reverse. A minor nick to proper left handle. H 10".
