Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "N CLARK, JR / ATHENS N Y," mid 19th century, semi-ovoid jug with flattened spout, brush-decorated with two flowers emanating from a leafy stem. Cobalt highlight to maker's mark and capacity mark. Staining throughout. A small in-the-firing lime ping on reverse. H 15 1/2".
