Three-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "ALBANY NY," possibly O'Connell Pottery, circa 1860, cylindrical crock with semi-rounded rim and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a crested bird with heavily-striped breast, perched on a tree stump. Slip-trailed "3" below rim. Provenance: William Bouck Collection. Light scattering exfoliation to front. Staining to surface. A 6 1/2" diagonal line to proper left side of crock. A 4" vertical Y-shaped line to far left side of crock's front. A 2 1/4" hairline to proper right side of crock. Two short, faint surface lines to midsection on proper right side of crock, not visible on interior. Light rim wear and a 1" rim chip on reverse. H 10".
