Two Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Canning Jars, Western PA origin, circa 1875, both with "wax sealer" rims, one stenciled "Jas. Hamilton / & Co. / Greensboro / Pa.," the other brush-decorated with graduated swags between two stripes. Larger with two chips and wear to interior of rim, heavy chipping to inner rim for lid, minor nicks to shoulder molding, and some light staining. Smaller with small nicks to inner rim, some in-the-firing, glazed-over pings to surface, and a star-shaped line to underside. H (of taller) 8".
