Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Beaver, PA origin, circa 1865, semi-ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded rim, brush-decorated with a stem bearing two large flower blossoms between freehand stripes. Freehand and impressed "2" to shoulder. Includes salt-glazed lid stamped "2" twice, probably OH origin. Surface wear around midsection. Chipping to inner rim for lid. Staining around base. Short surface lines to base area, not visible on interior. Chips to lid. H (excluding lid) 11 3/8".
