One-and-a-Half-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Milkpan, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1875, flaring form with tooled shoulder, applied lug handles, and squared rim and with wide pouring spout, brush-decorated with upswept swags on the front and reverse. Handles decorated with highlights at the terminals joined by a curving line of cobalt. Heavy chipping to rim. Proper left handle with a 3/4" chip and minor chip. A hairline across underside, forming a large T at base with whitish residue. Diam. 11 3/4"; H 6 1/2".
