Early-Period Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Vase with Lid, Signed "EM," Edwin Meaders, Cleveland, GA, circa 1960s-1970s, ovoid form with footed base and flaring, crimped rim, the surface covered in a greenish alkaline glaze. Underside incised with Edwin Meaders's initials, a desirable, early form of signature for this potter. Includes brown, alkaline-glazed lid from the Meaders Pottery, not original to this vase. Provenance: Frank W. White Collection. Both in excellent, essentially as-made condition. H (excluding lid) 7 1/4" ; Diam. (of lid) 4 1/4"
