Rare Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Presentation Pitcher with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Dated "FEB. / 12 / 1950," attributed to Cheever Meaders, Cleveland, GA, 1950, small-sized pitcher with ovoid body and flaring collar, featuring the brushed cobalt inscription, "SamuEL / RoberT / Dixon" on one side and a floral motif on reverse. Surface covered in a glossy, grayish alkaline glaze over a reddish clay ground. Underside inscribed in blackish slip, possibly cobalt, "FEB. / 12. / 1950." Provenance: Frank W. White Collection. Excellent, essentially as-made condition. H 4 5/8".
