Scarce Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Figure of a Quail with Cobalt Slip Decoration, Signed "AM," Arie Meaders, Cleveland, GA, circa 1956-1969, wheel-thrown and handle-modeled figure of a quail on pedestal base with applied circular eyes and carved crest, decorated with brushed cobalt slip highlights and covered in a glossy, olive-green alkaline glaze. Underside incised with Arie Meaders's initials. Provenance: Frank W. White Collection. Excellent, essentially as-made condition. H 7 1/2".
