Scarce Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Jar with Lid, Signed "CM," Cheever Meaders, Cleveland, GA, circa 1960s, small-sized, ovoid jar with flaring rim and two applied vertical handles at the shoulder, the surface covered in a grayish alkaline glaze over a buff clay ground. Includes original lid with large, rounded finial and matching glaze. Underside of jar incised with Cheever Meaders's initials. Provenance: Frank W. White Collection. Excellent condition with some whitish residue to inner rim for lid. H (including lid) 8".
