One-and-a-Half-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "JOHN BELL," Waynesboro, PA origin, circa 1840-1880, ovoid jug with semi-squared spout, brush-decorated with two diagonal tulip motifs in Bell's distinctive style, applied over a whitish slip. Cobalt dash decoration to handle. Essentially as-made condition with in-the-firing contact marks to upper body. H 13 1/2".
