Large-Sized Redware Jar with Lead-and-Manganese Floral Decoration, Stamped "JOHN BELL / WAYNESBORO'," PA origin, circa 1850-1880, ovoid jar with semi-rounded rim, applied pocket handles with tooled edges, and incised sine-wave decoration to shoulder, brush-decorated on the front and reverse with drooping spotted tulip motifs in Bell's distinctive style. Additional lead-and-manganese-glazed highlights to handle terminals and glazing to interior. Staining to surface. Otherwise excellent condition. H 13 1/4".
