Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "JOHN BELL / WAYNESBORO'," PA origin, circa 1850-1880, semi-ovoid jug with semi-rounded spout, brush-decorated with a central spotted tulip flanked by swags, applied over whitish slip. Additional swag decoration emanating from the base of the handle. A 1" x 7/8" spout chip. Typical in-the-firing stacker marks to shoulder. Some old blackish paint spatter to surface. H 13".
