Three-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "HAXSTUN, OTTMAN & CO. / FORT EDWARD N. Y.," circa 1875, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a crested bird with long tail, perched on a leafy branch accented with spots. Cobalt accents to maker's mark and capacity mark. A 1 3/8" chip and smaller chip, both to interior of rim. A small chip to exterior of rim. A very shallow 1" x 5/8 flake at base on reverse. H 10 1/4".
