Stoneware Churn with Cobalt Chicken Pecking Corn Decoration, NY State origin, circa 1885, tapering churn with tooled midsection, flared collar, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a chicken pecking kernels of corn from a stylized ground. Exfoliation at base, primarily on reverse, extending onto underside. A small base chip on proper right side of churn. An in-the-firing contact mark near base on reverse and at base on churn's right side. A minuscule nick below decoration. A few small rim chips. A few minor nicks to inner rim for lid. H 16".
