Three-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Chicken Pecking Corn Decoration, attributed to Brady & Ryan, Ellenville, NY, circa 1885, cylindrical crock with semi-rounded rim and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a chicken pecking kernels of corn from a stylized ground. Long hairlines on underside, one extending 2 3/8" up base on crock's proper left side with associated staining, the other extending 2" up base on reverse. A base chip on reverse, glazed-over with varnish or sealant of some sort. A minor rim chip. A minuscule nick to midsection on front. H 10 1/4".
