Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "L. NORTON & SON," Bennington, VT, circa 1835, ovoid jar with tall collar and applied lug handles, brush-decorated with a flower motif featuring a long stem and oval blossom with stamen. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Chips around rim. An in-the-firing contact mark to left of decoration. H 10 1/4".
