Two-Gallon Manchester, NH Stoneware Advertising Jug with Cobalt Parrot Decoration, attributed to F.B Norton, Worcester, MA, circa 1870, cylindrical jug with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded spout, decorated with a large design of a crested parrot with spotted tail and body, perched in the crook of two large leaves. Impressed with the advertising, "ARTHUR M. EASTMAN / MANCHESTER N. H." Cobalt accents to advertising and capacity mark. Areas of fry to cobalt. A 2 1/8" Y-shaped line at base, extending onto underside. Small base chip, possibly in the making. Staining to surface. H 13 7/8".
