Scarce Half-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "R.C.R. / PHILA," Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1875, bulbous pitcher with footed base, semi-rounded rim, and tooled accents to body and midsection, brush-decorated with three sweeping tulip motifs around the body and swags around the collar. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Impressed with "R.C.R. / PHILA" maker's mark at base. Fry to cobalt. An 8 3/4" crack from rim on side of pitcher. Wear to front and tip of spout. H 9".
