Fine and Scarce Two-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Pitcher, Stenciled "WILLIAMS & REPPERT. / GREENSBORO. PA.," circa 1885, ovoid pitcher with tall, flaring collar, featuring Williams & Reppert maker's stenciling within a foliate banner. Stenciled "2" above, flanked by stenciled floral devices. Elaborate dash decoration to spout. Freehand stripe to rim, base of collar, and base of pitcher. Desirable form and size. A 5/8" filled and colored rim chip on side of pitcher with a tight 2 1/2" hairline descending from it. A shallow 7/8" filled and colored rim chip on reverse. H 13 3/8".
