Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware King Gambrinus Pitcher, attributed to the Wingender Pottery, Haddonfield, NJ, late 19th century, ovoid pitcher with footed base, narrow collar, and semi-rounded rim, the front decorated with a molded and applied design of King Gambrinus raising a stein of beer, flanked by incised foliate motifs. Cobalt highlights throughout. Incised "II" on reverse. Three small spout chips. A small rim chip. A small chip to shoulder molding. Wear to relief decoration. A small in-the-firing surface chip to right of decoration. H 9 1/4".
